Injury Compensation Scheme

Can I Claim ?

If in the last three years you have suffered injury because of some one else’s negligence you may well be able to seek compensation ,if it can be established that another person or entity was negligent and responsible.

Typical scenario’s can be

  • A motor accident as a passenger or driver
  • accidents at work caused by bad practice or breeches of Health and Safety
  • Even accidents in the home if faulty equipment is to blame
  • Medical negligence
  • In some cases injury caused by sporting activity
  • Slipping and tripping accidents

There are many causes of accidents such as a persons negligence, defective workmanship, a failure to comply with best working practices, faulty equipment, poor supervision or instruction.

You may think that your injury was wholly or partially caused by your own negligence this is not always the case sometimes negligence can be established if say an employer failed to correct an incorrect way of working which led to injury. This omission in itself could be an act of negligence.

Negligence can be apportioned  between parties and even if you contributed to the accident you can still have a claim against the other party.
